Testicular cancer...or any cancer.

My friend is diagnosed with testicular cancer.  He is a pastor so he had no insurance and has qualified for molina health insurance.  He needs round the clock care in order for him to come back home from the hospital.  His wife had to get a job to pay bills and I am wondering if there are programs or help for this family.  I am a CNA and can volenteer some of the time but I have a son with Down Syndrome that needs me when he gets home. Any ideas?  I had a identical twin that died of pancreatic cancer in March, and she struggled with the same problem.

The Amercan Cancer Society has some resources for this: http://www.cancer.org/docroot/SHR/content/SHR_2.1_x_Taking_C

Check it out!  You can also contact them to ask about possible money programs that can help out.

Yes ask his parishoners to assist! He has given his time and if he's a good pastor his love and care to them. You would be suprised to find out how many of them men included would be there to help. I know this 1st hand, I was a youth leader and had heart surgery and was offered so much help I felt very loved. Thank god for giving me and my loved ones that. I still get tears in my eyes at the love shown to me and that was several years ago. It doesn't matter the size of the church there probably wondering what can I do already. The church takes care of their own, or at least mine does. Another thing you could do is suggest a meal and cleaning schedule be done if mom is working and caring for him she's exhuasted. The ladies can cook and clean. Add a grocery drive at the church so nobody has to steal a few precios moments to go shopping, that was awsome, we have done that for many of our members and it is heart warming for all. I have a hard time leaving my sweetie as sick as he is and it means alot when someone calls and says we are bringing over enough food already prepared for a few days and we have some other nessary items we will be bringing. Well when the arrive with a truck of everything you could need along with cooked food that is a blessing. As anyone who lives the days spent on the phone to get a new medication covered or a new test approved, then lets do the laundry change his bedding, cook something and pray he will eat it or keep it down if he does, do you get the hint. Again I say I'm sorry she has to work at a time like this but help all you can and even if you are not a member of his church go talk to them they will help. It's the christian thing to do.

May the Lord Bless You And Them
