I'm sure all of you know me as the 13 year old girl with the 65 year old grandpa who had this dreadful esophageal cancer. I'm glad you all gave me advice throughout his journey in this battle with his cancer. But I'm really upset to say my grandfather passed away yesterday,Sep. 25th around 7'o Clock...I miss him dearly and it hurts so much that he was very much close to me,as I saw him everyday,if not, every other day.

This cancer is really hard to beat,As I've been told,Now I know it really is.

 God bless all..

 R.I.P Thomas H L. I love you papa..

I'm so sorry to read of your grandpa's passing. From your posts it was evident how much you cared for him--and in return he for you. Memories of your times together are so important. Hold them to your heart and know that those times meant as much (or more, speaking as a grandparent) to him as to you. My heart is with you. Linda

I, too, am very sorry to see that you lost your grandpa.  Please hold those wonderful memories of all the good times shared between the two of you close to your heart.  They will help you in dealing with the sorrow you are now feeling by losing him.  He was very fortunate to have such a loving grandaughter by his side.  Just know he will be looking down on you with smiles knowing he was part of such a remarkable young lady's life. I wish you the best in healing from this.

Hugs,

 Kris

I am so sorry for you grandpa's passing. He is in a better place now and his suffering has ended. Just know he is watching over you and will always be with you. Keep his memory alive in all that you do and did with him.

Dear Cynthia,

I am so sorry to hear that your grandpa has passed from this horrible monster.  You are a very brave and loving girl and (as a grandmother) I am sure your grandpa was so very proud of you.  You were by his side with love and compassion.

My grandchildren remember their grandpa who passed away from this disease 19 months ago by talking about him and telling funny stories about grandpa.  If we remember them, they are not gone.

God bless you,

Diane, Mike's wife

Oh Cynthia, I wish I could give you a hug in person. :(  We all share in your pain with you.  Like the other person said, your grandpa is in a much better place now and he feels no discomfort, pain or misery.  Please try to find some comfort in that.  I know you love him and always will.  Remember the good times and try not to dwell on his last days.  Be happy that he does not have to suffer any more with this terrible disease.  In time you days of loneliness without him will subside, but it's really okay to feel as you do right now.

Take care and God be with you.

 Pam
