Sakshi;

I am sorry about you Dad.  It has got to be very hard on you to be so far from him.   You didn't mention how old you Dad is or where the tumor was.  Is he able to get around on his own?  I know it is hard to watch your loved one going through all this.  It changes everything.  Some changes become a new normal, something that takes adjusting to.  How is the 5/23 temador working, his recent MR?  You are doing the right thing by coming on this site.  People on the site know how you feel.  We can't fix it but we are going through it too.  My heart goes out to you.

My heart goes out to you.  I am also a daughter of two parents with GBM.  I wish I had words of advice...but I have learned that walking day by day is the only way you can get through it.  I hate you are so far away from your family.  I am so thankful I have found this site where there are finally people who understand what this journey is like.  Praying you will find comfort with your new found support group.

Weak, memory problems and headache?  If he is 6 months into the treatment, then he is probably suffering from the effects of the chemo and the late effects of the radiation.  Is he on any steroid to reduce swelling of the brain?  The 3 symptoms you describe are typical of the brain swelling.  Even if he is on the steroid, he is still likely to have some degree of weakness, and short term memory loss is classic, so consider how the treatments are affecting him, try not to worry too much, and just keep yourself informed about how things change over time.  Tell him to keep a close watch out for clots that show up in the calf of the leg, or sudden increased weakness in any particular body part that was not before, or vision changes, or seizure activity.  So sorry you are so far away from him.

Sakshi,

My heat goes out to you. I was in US when me and my husband heard about my MIL's brain cancer diagnosis in Korea. My husband made a bold decision to move back to our home country. I can imagine how painful it must be for you to just listen how your dad is doing and feel helpless from such a far place. I am very sorry about your dad and your situation. Please let me know if I can be of any help.
