I was diagnosed with stage 111 Ovarian 11/07 followed by extensive surgery on 1/08. Had anastomotic leak from resection of bowels filling up with poison from the intestines. What was supposed to be  a 7 to 10 day stay turned into 40 days requiring another surgery 14 days later to repair resection and remove all the foul smelling fecal liquid from my abdominal cavity leaving me with a feeding tube, an illeostomy, 6 drains. I was a mess. Lost over 40lbs, was malnourished, dehydrated and extremely weak, left hospital. Went home 3 weeks just to return to another hospital with malnutrition, dehydration and failure to thrive. 3 days in hospital, Cat scan found huge abscess containing MRSA. Hospital stay 30 days +. Picc line put in . Abdominal drain for Abscess and 3 different antibiotics for weeks. Was not able to eat food due to thrush for past 2 months. Given Diflucan which helped. Discharged to home. Recovering from Surgerys and then had reversal of illeostomy 5/08. Have had contant diarrhea since. Started Taxol, Carboplatin 8/08 to 12/08 x6. Recurrance of ovarian ca 5/09. doctor says this ca will take my life and to wait for symptoms then will have Doxil. Numbers are slowly rising each month when I get port flushed and have CA125 done. My doctor suggested Tomoxifen to maybe help with the numbers? Does anyone feel this could help me? I have a strong faith in God and know that he holds me in the palm of his hands and he has prdetermined my days. I have been very depressed not knowing what direction to go in. I have so much residual effects from the surgery and the chemo. Please let me know if I should take the Tomoxifen or not? I already suffer so much from hot flashes. Please help?
