Race for Hope -- Philadelphia

Hi All,

I will be participating in the Race for Hope in Philadelphia on November 1.

The race is in its fourth year and has grown to more than 5,000 people which is 333% increase from year one and has experienced a 275% increase in fundraising since 2006.  The Race has contributed over $1,000,000 to fund innovative research for brain tumor treatments and support services for brain tumor patients and their families.

I am running the race in honor of my husband Gary who was diagnosed with a GBM in March '09 and is still surviving!

Given that there is limited funding being applied to brain tumor research, my goal is to do what I am able to do in terms of raising both awareness and funds that will aid in curing this deadly disease.

If you are impacted by brain cancer, I hope that you will find it in your hearts and wallets to donate whatever you are able -- no amount is too small.  This cancer is a beast and we need to do everything we can to help continue raising funds for research.  Please know that your donation is tax deductible!

You can access my page on the Race for Hope website via the following link:

Thanks so much!

Jennifer

Hi Jennifer,

I'm so glad I read your post because I immediately created a team and have raised $965.00 in less than a week, thanks to family and friends.  My father was diagnosed with this in May '09 and my sister and I will be in the race for him.  Our team is "Kruke's Kids"!  Maybe I'll see you there.  Lots of luck!

God bless everyone on this message board!

Hi Amy -- thanks so much for responding.  I am so happy that I was able to get the word out -- you're the second team that was created since I posted and that makes me feel really good

Our team, The Brain Farts, is having t-shirts made so keep your eyes peeled for us and if you see us, please come up and introduce yourself.  I'll be on the lookout for you too!

Congrats on raising so much money in such a short time.

Jennifer
