I have had a trachelectomy 10 years ago in Quebec city by one of the first doctor to perform this operation. I have had my first child 2.5 years ago. I was on bed rest starting at 20 weeks...I worked until then. My pregnancy went pretty well. My membranes ruptured at 32 weeks but the doctors kept me in the hospital until 34 weeks and I had a C-section. I have tried to conceive last year and since then I have had 2 miscarriages which had nothing to do with my surgery. I had in both cases a D&C at 9 weeks. At first I was scared to have the D&C since I had a permanent cerclage but everything went well. I will try in a couple of month to try to conceive again.
I would love to hear from anyone who have had a child following radical trachelectomy. Will my second preganancy go worse since my cervix has had trauma? I have been seaching for information for a long time and never came across a woman who has had 2 pregnancies after have a radical trachelectomy. I have read that it has happened more than once but would love to hear from someone in this situation.
