Hello...My Mom has been diagnosed with Stage 4 RCC that has spread to her lung (surgery in May) then small tumor removed from small intestine in July...latest scan showed 5 new nodules in lung area, one on liver, abdomen and soft muscle tissue of upper back.  I just read up about immunology therapy.  I am trying my best to locate a good Dr or hospital or center in the Phoenix area.  She is currently in Sonoma, CA.  We both have homes in Surprise AZ area and are flying there from SF next Tuesday.  Does anyone know of a great oncologist?  What about immunology therapy?  What about this above mentioned center?  We have an appt at Mayo on Nov 9th, but they will only see her on that date if she has either not started any treatments, or has failed for 4 weeks at chemotherapy.  She started Nexavar for 2 weeks, but was taken off after 2 weeks because of very bad skin rash that she is still getting over after being off Nexavar for 9 days.  She is so tired all the time, she is on low dosage morphine, but I'm wondering if this is good?  Any suggestions, or ideas would be GREATLY appreciated.  Thanks!!!

I would avoid anything with Issels in it because of quackery involved in some of these alternative therapies. However, do a search in Google and see what you think. Your message shows up in the Google search responses. There are some good cancer specialists in San Francisco at the U of San Francisco I believe. Here is a reference:

I have not heard of any doctor in Phoenix that sepcializes in kidney cancer. Hopefully, someone else on this list mya know.
