I am trying to collect information about side effects that patients have experience.  My mom has been on it a long time.  She takes it once a week through IV before her Chemo.

What has been your experience with decadron or dexamethasone(as it is also called).

All responses are appreciated.

My husband's blood sugar used to sky rocket after taking decadron.  I guess its glucose based or something.

Other possible side effects include restlessness, sleeplessness, hunger, edginess, mood issues, ulcers, yeast infections/candida/thrush, weight gain, and extreme muscle weakness. All good reasons to take the least amount necessary. It's important to taper the dosage VERY VERY slowly though... ask the NO for a schedule on that.
