I was wondering if I could get some feedback from you all.  I am looking for supplaments to add to my brothers regular meds. He has a GBM, dxin April/09  I am somewhat familiar with Ben Williams articles, but would like to see what other people use as well.  I have gotten no help from his NO or NP.  Please help.

I don't think Dr. want to say anything about supplements.  Out of their areas of expertise I guess.  My husband, dx 12/08, GBM takes fish oil. health food store-mercury free, highest you can get, cant really overdue unless on a blood thinner.  If so check with Dr. first. He also is taking D3, 2000 mg. daily, a good probiotic to keep his stomach healthy- also health food store.  Maitake, Reishi, shitake mushrooms-(capsule in hot water extracts).  He also takes a standard men's one a day.  We asked his NO about all of these and he said nothing is counterindicated but that the one a day should be the low dose like regular one a days in the pharmacy -no mega doses.  Also quercetin, which helps with swelling too.  Most of the health food stores sales staff are helpful but worth double checking with the Ben Williams info.  Hope this helps, God bless you and your brother.  He is blessed to have you looking out for him.  Every bit of support helps.

I've heard some buzz about this Budwig diet, but my Dad hates cottage cheese so we are reluctant to force it on him.  Otherwise, I know Vitamin D is VERY important - it supports the immune system and is rumored to directly target cancer cells.  Our oncologist told us to avoid Vitamin E, it coats the cells and makes them resistant to treatment.

Hi cubeinthesky .........There is a great deal of evidence that the Budwig diet is very effective when treating cancer and it is highly recommended in most alternative treatment protocols....... I use the cottage cheese/flax seed/flax oil mixture as my breakfast everyday. I am not fond of cottage cheese either and without adding fruit to the mixture I'd have trouble getting it down too. Here's a link to a video on how to go about making a tasty mixture. It's about twice as much as I would eat at one time but would probably be just about the right amount for an adult male....... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-ZgLvg1ixhk ........ ______________________________________________________________
