Need help

Hello all I am new to the boards but husband diagnosed gbm 1/07, we lost his INS after employer laid him off then filed bankruptcy so no cobra. He has been taking temodar will very little side effects since 1/07. Problem now can't afford medicine his dosage 300mg for 5 days pet month which cost $2800.00 here in texas.oh yeah I supposedly make too much money to qualify for assistance(I make less after taxes than it costs) does anyone have any tips on how we could get it cheaper? Any help would be appreciated

Thank you for your response I have tried the manufacturer they are the ones that said I make too much even thou my take home pay is less than the prescription. We are blessed that he is doing so well on the medicine. At this point it's like do I. Pay the bills or buy the medicine

Brenda...finances are the last thing you should have to worry about right now!  Have you talked with a social worker or someone where your husband is being treated?  Maybe they can help find some assistance with the astronomical cost of the meds.  Does your husband get any SSI?  Have you gone on line and checked the various cancer societies/associations?  They have links to resources.  It's worth a try.

I wish you and your husband well...praying for you!
