Today is my husbands first treatment of Torisel and no one told us if he should eat or not? Will it make him sick immediately? Thanks for any info.  Micki

It's up to you if you want to eat or not.  I have been on Torisel for 5 months, not to many side efffects.  Tired and swelling in the feet.  Overall pretty good.  email any question on message board and I will answer.

Thank you for responding. The treatment went well. It took 2 1/2 hours. That made my husband nervous. No side effects yet and he got a good night's sleep.

He took sutent for 3 weeks and had a problem with his heart because he is also on comadin for leg blood clots. They dropped the dose in half and he took it for two more weeks with no problem. But the CT scan showed more lung mets and a lymph gland enlarged by his aorta. The Onc doc decided to start Torisel.

He is a stage 4 RCC. A large tumor 7cm in his left kidney and multiple mets in lungs. No surgery is planned all they have offered is chemo. We have no idea how long you can live with this. He is 68 yrs young and works everyday. We have a family owned business. We have alot of living left to do and want to hit this head on. Any advise you have will be greatly appreciated. thank you, Micki
