Temodar didn't work and now lomustine

My husband was on Temodar for about 4 months and the MRI showed progession. We then switched to lomustine and now I am noticing the same symtoms as when the temodar stopped working. We live in Canada so our options are done. I am trying to investigate how to get avastin. Once before when I posted someone in Alberta responded as her husband was using avastin but it was not be covered. Does anyone know anything more about the use of this drug. My husband also has kidney cancer so I was hoping maybe they could give him avastin for the kidney but am not sure if that is approved for that either. I know my note is wordy and quite confusing. My bottom line is I am looking for something else that might be effective treating this horrible disease. The tumors are in the  speech area so my husband communication is pretty much limited to a few words which often makes me feel that I am fighting this on my own. He is also bedridden so we can't get around to other places very easily. Any suggestions appreciated and if the lady in Alberta would like to respond again I would love to hear how she is managing getting the drug there.

What are your finances like?  I had to pay for my husband's Avastin in the US.  I posted about it on another thread but I can tell you it is very expensive.  However, in the US we have infusion pharmacies that can get the Avastin and for self payers will charge a fraction of what cancer centers charge. (not as much markup)

If Avastin is available in Canada for any reason and there are doctors who work off the public health system (I do not know your system well) and you can pay for it then maybe a private cancer center or an infusion pharmacy can help.

Take care,

Peace,

JMB
