Hi Everyone

Just wanted to let you know the surgery on Sept 24th was 14 hours long but good news.  Not much cancer was found.  The overies and fallopian tubes went and a tumor had started there.  My uterus was okay.

Some thickening in afew spots on the colon outer walls and a couple on the small intestine walls were removed without any resection.

The omentum was removed of course as that was where the most cancer was along with the mesh that had been put in over 2 years ago. for the hernia surgery.

All visable cancer cells in the peritoneum were removed.  Before starting the chemperfusion all visable  cancer cells were gone.

The pump was 2 hours.  Giving the Surgeon a supper break.

Then he went back in and stitched up the internal tissues.. After that the external staples.   I have 54 staples from the top of my breast to the tip beyond my bikini cut.

My white blood count was good enough and I was walking so they sent me home after12 days.

I have overdone it and have paid for it but now am taking it easy and getting more rest.

I can only sleep on my back because there is no omentum.  That is uncomfortable.

Lots of pain pills at first but try to stick to just 1 a day and 1 - 2 at bedtime    They are just Tylonol 3's

My doctor put me in the 20 - 40% range of a cure for aggressive colon cancer returning.    So good diet and lots of exercise to come  -- right now I'm dependent on what's around but at least I'm not eating too badly.

Dear Jane  -- I have sent you 2 emails  -- i hope you got them

There should be more info about this surgery - please ask your doctors about it.

Debra

Debra

I am so happy to hear that the surgery went well.  I have been anxious to hear news and I am so delighted that you are up and around.  It sounds like the surgeon got better news than expected.  Awesome.

Stay well

Maria
