Hello just started this morning.  Was looking for help with the skin burn due to radiation.  I am being treated for left breast cancer in radiation as of now.  skin burn under arm pit, under breast and on back shoulder blade.  Have been using the silver but as I see that may not be the best alternative.  I have 13 more treatments left so I may try some of the suggestion on this site.

Hi!  Have them give you...or prescribe....Biafine cream.  It's in a small tube........very effective and I had no burns at all when I finally got it.  (Had throat cancer.......35 rad treatments to neck.........have friend who has breast cancer and she had burn problems until she used it!)  It is the most effective thing I have seen!

I started out using that and went to the burns.  Thanks for the suggestion.

The best stuff I used during radiation was call Aquaphor. You should also keep the area dry and if skin is touching skin, try to use a soft material or the ointment to separate.

Hello,

I used 99.9% Aloe Vera Gel immediately after radiation and after a shower etc.  My skin did get red towards the end of treatment but I did not experience any pain.  It is now 6 months since I ended treatment (30) and my skin is soft and normal and all pigmentation is gone.  I too was treated for left breast cancer.

I was told specifically not to use the gel you buy in a tube/bottle at the pharmacy so I asked about gel from an aloe plant and was told that could be used.  I did use it with success.  Also the Biafine later on.

I went thru same... Biafine was the cure and worked with my severest areas under fold of
RAW areas where skin just melted off.

I was told this happened because they used too many "Boosters," extra radiation tx during your regular time of tx.

It takes a lon time to heal though, have tp be patient. Medciare would not pay for Biafine but a friend who worked for a Dermatologist gave me free samples to get me thru (7 boxes of small sample tubes and I used non stick gauze 3x3 pads on top with tape.
