My oncologist has planned for both. I had my whipple on August 20 and started Chemo Oct. 1. He wanted to get 2-3 cycles in, then 4-6 weeks of radiation, followed by more chemo. However, my blood count keeps tanking on me when I'm on chemo and we keep having to adjust. I just know I am going to do everything I can to treat this. It is an insidious cancer and will try to show up in other places. At first I thought my doc was being a bit aggressive, but after some research and certain cases I found out about, I understand the need for it.
