Revlimid Side

Has anyone on revlimid ever has joint and muscle pain as a side effect?  Dr. says this is not really a side effect and kind of makes me feel that it is all in my head, except for the fact that the pain is real.

Side Effects of Revlamid: section.) "Lenalidomide may benefit you by helping increase the number of functioning red blood cells. Unfortunately, it may also increase your risk of developing serious bone marrow problems such as low white blood cell counts or low platelet counts. Seek immediate medical attention if you develop the following symptoms: persistent fever, persistent sore throat, easy bleeding/bruising. Most patients will experience these effects, which will require your doctor to stop and restart lenalidomide or decrease your dose. Lenalidomide can cause serious (sometimes fatal) blood clots in veins and lungs. Seek immediate medical attention if you develop the following symptoms: calf pain/swelling, chest pain, trouble breathing" Webmd Your symptoms sound more like the effects of MM. See what your doc is willing to do about it. I had all those symptoms and took natural supplements and pain meds. Take care MMS

From Anna,

Hi sonsshine, Welcome to the group.  My Dad has taken Revlimid.  He gets cramps but I don't know if its the Revlimid or the Steriods he takes with them.  Bone pain can come with this kind of cancer. Hope I helped a little.

Your friend,

Anna

Thank you for the info.  May I ask what natural supplements you take.  I'm looking to see what I can add to the regimen. I have spoken to the Dr. and had a second pet scan, it showed no additonal spots since the first one 3 months ago.

Thank you.

Thank you Anna,  I hope your Dad is doing better.  For the leg cramps I drink more water, have a banana and before I go to be I take a glass of tonic water.  It is a pain to have to get up in the night to pee but at least the legs cramps have subsided.

Again thank you for your concern.

Agnes

I take a lot of natural supplements and also rotate them. I am on a liquid called polymva which is a nutritional supplement. I take coq10, cod liver oil, digestive enzymes, lots of magnesium (helps avoid cramps) epicor immune booster. I was on Tumeric large dose until I had gallbladder problems. Maybe able to go back on that at a later date. Luquid minerals and coats aloe, I always say Coats as they have cold pressed aloe and it has not been heated thus having a better effect. Calcium with mg+ and Vit D. Vit D3 2-4000 mgs a day. I need to drink more water but am improving. If you get a blue colored bottle, put in plain tap water and sit it in the sun each day, it gives you a boost. Have no clue why but very beneficial. I am always looking for new things. I also take a B100 that includes all the B Vitamins. Hope this helps with some tips. mms

Since my diagnosis 6 years ago and slightly before I have been having joint and muscle pain and stffness. We havent really found a direct cause for it so I just work thru it every day. After this many years I really dont pay much attention to it. I do find that the more active I am the joint pain seems to be less but the muscle stiffness more.

All the best,

Mike

From Anna,

Hi Mike, Dad had bone pain before they said he had MM. The thought it was arthritis but it was cancer related.

Your friend,

Anna
