Glioblastoma multiforme IV and working??

I am a 50 yr old female with GBM 4, diagnosed Nov 2008.  I am doing very well.  I am finding it very difficult to get any interviews.  Any advice?  What is technical definition for "remission"?

I don't have any particular advice but you are a true hero, stick with it, something will come up.

I'm not even sure I would bring it up with a prospective employer unless you think your condition would somehow affect your ability to perform the job. I don't think it has to. My husband is in his 50s and was diagnosed with GBM 2 years ago. He works, and his condition does not interfere with doing his job at all.

The job market is tough for everyone right now, so I would only tell them what they legally need to know.

I concur with the others here.  Unless there are specific concerns about your ability to perform the job (and I would assume that you probably aren't applying for that kind of work anyway) you don't have to bring it up and, frankly, they can't even legally ask... at least in the U.S.

That said, getting job interviews these days is difficult for everyone.  My advice is to use any business connections you have to try to get your resume in front of hiring managers (HR and "official channels" are usually big black holes for resumes), and keep trying, as frustrating as it seems.

My partner has IV GBM diagnosised in 3/09, and is doing fantastic back at work.

Keep your chin up, and I agree unless he is symptomaic I don't think there is a reason to disclose.
