recourence symptoms

I would like to know if anyone has heard of any certain symptoms related to recourence of scc. I was let go from my job while on medical leave and lost my insurance, so I am trying to figure out what I am going to do. I am one year out in late November, and due for a cat scan in December. I am trying to get veterens health benefits but not sure on that yet.

Have you checked with the VA ? If your a vet you are intitled to some benefits. I got all my treatment at the VA chemo Rad PET scans CTscans all the required dental work. the whole nine yards. Go to there web site and apply. It will take you maybe 5minutes.

Yes i have filled out the paperwork they have to mail it so i can sign and send it back in. Where were you treated? I have heard some bad things about VA but its my only choice right now.

I was impressed with the care I got there. I too heard horror stoties, but like you had no choice.

Please take advantage of the resources that the VA healthcare system can offer you.  I work at a VA medical center and I wouldn't hesitate for my family or myself to be treated there.  I don't where you are located, but the feedback we get from our patients is very positive.  I wish I could use the VA myself, but I'm not a vet.   There is an emphasis on patient care and satisfaction and if you're dissatisfied with your care or provider you have a recourse.  So sorry about your situation....cancer is stressful enough without this to deal with.
