My father has lung cancer and has begun to breath like a fish. He does this when he is awake in the morning before he gets out of bed to eat his breakfast and take a shower. Hospice tells us that typically lung cancer patients only breath in this manner when they are sleeping and the end is near. My father has defied all odds and has be atypical through this whole process. I am just wondering if anyone else has had this experience and what happened next. He can still stand, but his legs are getting extremly weak and it seems it's just a matter of time before he is bedridden. I realize this process does not come with a script, but a little guidance might help relieve some of the stress. Hospice has been great. We could not have done this without the support of his nurse, and his aide.
