My Daughter has been diagnosed with Non Small cell Adenocarcinoma undetermined which has metastized to the menenges and into the spinal fluid. We are told this is rare for several reasons: The tumor cannot be found in the lung or the abdominal Cavity and Non small Cell is not known to penetrate the menenges. She has been prescribed Tarceva 150 Mg for this as a first line treatment as we are told, no other drugt exists that will penetrate the Menenges and treat the cells. She has a shunt installed which drains the excess spinal fuid into the abdominal Cavity which of course dumps cells also which is of concern.

Has anyone else had experience with this type of situation and the use of Tarceva and other drugs for treatment of it?
