delusional behavior as a side effect of radiation to desmoid sarcoma of the neck

Hello,

I'm looking for answers as to why my Father, sufferring from desmoid sarcoma of the neck, is quite delusional.  He walked into this radiation treatment with his faculties fully intact.  Last 3 days he's been in and out of strange delusions virtually all of the time.  The radiation treatment area is quite large and you can see the swollen tumor area underneath the skin.  The doctor said it could be impingement of blood vessels and swelling of surrounding tissues that are causing lack of blood flow to the area and thus the delusional behavior because of it.  His b.p. was quite low, but is back up.  I'm thinking there's some anoxia present.  If there's lack of oxygen wouldn't it permanently damage the adjacent tissues and vessels, causing irreparable damage.  Just wondering if this delusion problem is going to get worse or ever go away.  Anyone got any idea on that.  Ever been through something similar and how did you dea with it.

Sincerely,

woman shooting darts in the dark!
