Hi everyone,
My Grandad was just diagnoised with Bile duct cancer on Thursday, they have said they cannot do anything for him and now its just a waiting game, as they have said they cannot give us a time limit.
His story is this:
He is 75 and was taken in to hospital 2 weeks ago, when myself and my mum noticed his eyes had become yellow and his skin, he also said his urine was very dark, and had a tempreture. My mum phoned the doctor, she did some blood tests and took a pee sample, she called in on him hours later to tell him he needed to get to hospital.
At first they didn't know what was causing it, they said gall stones at first, so they did an endoscopy and put a stent in, which helped because he isn't so yellow now, they say it isn't working but surely it must be? But, unfortunately on Thursday he rung from hospital to say they had told him it was the big C and that it was too far advanced to do anything.
But what is confusing to us is this, he's not in any pain as yet, the only symptoms are the jaundice, (which has de-creased a lot) and the dark urine. He had lost a lot of weight, but he had some other health problems and the doctors put it down to that and it obviously wasn't. But, whilst he's been in hospital and eating three meals a day, he's put on 2 stone.
I'm just hoping now that he doesn't deteriate fast, and treasuring every day with him, and hoping for a miracle to come our way.
Cancer is awful anyway, but when its one that not many doctors know about its even worse.
