My husband passed away Oct. 28th and I know I will miss him dearly. I want to thank all that answered my questions. All I can say is that he passed with his family around him and in his own bed. He was the best man ever! Please keep him in your prayers and I will do the same for all of you that are battling this terrible disease.

Dear Phyllis,

I am so sorry about the loss of your husband.  I too lost my husband to stomach/esophagus cancer February 22, 2008 and I still miss him dreadfully.  I truly believe we will be reunited someday and they are waiting for us.

God bless you and your family,

Diane

Mike's wife

Hi Phyllis,

I am so very sorry to hear your loss. I remember your husband was dx about the same time as my mom. While you miss him dearly, please have comfort that he is resting in peace. No more pain or suffer.

Thank you for your prayers. I will pray for you and your husband. Please take good care of yourself.

May

Hi Phyllis I am soo sorry for your lost, My husband had prostate cancer which was treated with surgery but the doctors discovered two tumors in his chest, one next to his esophagus and the other next to a vain next to his heart.  He and the doctor both seem to be very apprehensive in dealing with them.  What am about to ask of you may be painful but can you tell me if your husband showed any early signs of his illness before he was diagnosed?  I am watching my husband health change for the worse but I ask myself is it in my head or is it for real.  He does not want to talk about it so I walk on egg shell when it comes to me asking him just a simple; how are you feeling?  If you can share your experience with me I may be able to sort things out in my head. Feel free to email me if you like

My husband had no signs except for difficulty in swallowing rice. In Dec. he had some problems with carbonated soda. The swallowing test came back good. The upper GI series showed some dysplasia but no cancer. The EUS shoed adenocarcinoma. We thought we were headed for surgery but it metastasis to the liver and he was never able to tolerate the chemo. I only wish that he showed some improvement but that never happened. When he developed shingles, pulmonary emboli or low blood counts I told him they were "bumps-in-the-roads". I knew he wasn't getting better. I felt hope was the only thing I had left.

He's now gone and I don't resent anything I did or said. I tried to make him comfortable and showed my love every minute. He was so important to me and I knew he knew that!

Just tell your husband that you are there for him and maybe he will come around. Just show your compassion and commitment in trying to help him through this battle.

Phyllis
