Stage IV Melanoma and Interluken II didn't work

My dad is 63 and just finished 2 rounds of an IL2 series.  He has stage IV melanoma with multiple lesions on his liver and lungs. He was dismissed from the series through Kaiser Riverside (CA) w/ Dr. Gailani.  We are now trying to decide if other clinical trials is better than high dose IL2.  We were told today that the high dose IL2 is only 17-19% effective.  He showed some signs of decreased size but new lesions did show up and some even grew.  If anyone has any ideas of trials or how to even navigate through this messed up cancer system please please help.  We don't have much guidance (none actually) and the doctors are not willing to suggest any which I guess makes sense but our family doesn't even know where to start.  HELP!!!!!!! Please!! We are running out of time.

My husband did a year of interferon a and it didn't show any efficacy, our options were chemo (20%) or clinical trials. We opted for clinical trials (ABT888) and have gone through one round. You may want to look into it and see if he'd be a candidate.
