1st Thyrogen Injection on Monday

Hello, this is my first time here, just found this site a few minutes ago. I was diagnosed with papillary thyroid carcinoma on July 27, 2009. They found it because it had spread to my lymph nodes and my neck was swollen. I had a complete thyroidectomoy and 27 lymph nodes removed on August 3, 2009, 1/3 of the lymph nodes were cancerous. My treatment has been pretty uneventful since the surgery, but I am due to start RAI next Wednesday and get my first Thyrogen injection on Monday. The last time I went to the endo there were two lumps in my neck that I pointed out to her and she felt them. She said it could be scar tissue but if it's cancer cells returning the radiation will take care of it. The fact that they're there scares me and so does radiation.

Any advice?

Good Morning Kimmie;

Hello, this is my first time here, just found this site a few minutes ago.

I'll offer you our warm greetings even though this isn't your first choice in places to be.

I was diagnosed with papillary thyroid carcinoma on July 27, 2009.

You may wish to post your question under the topic of thyroid cancer.

Any advice?

Get educated, stay positive, remain focused on your goal and never let your guard down.

Best of luck and courage in your battle!

Take care;

Kevin
