Perhaps the tumor or the scar tissue from the radiation is affecting his nervous system? the part of the brain that controls sensory perception of hot and cold? Anything like this is bothersome but probably not a cause for huge worry. When Andy had an audible clicking in his tumor area, no one seemed to care much. And it went away.

Brains! Can't live with 'em, can't live without 'em. Sorry, a little BTH. (Brain tumor humor.)

Could be a minor seizure?  The icy feeling and the bad taste could be the aura signalling the seizure.  Mention it to the neurooncologist because they want to know about seizure activity.

Take care,

Peace,

JMB

S - my hubby steve had a gbm and is ALWAYS freezing.  This is (they believe) b/c the pituitary is fried during radiation and fails to signal the hypothalamus.  Steve had his hormone levels checked and needed testosterone supplements.  His temp ranges from 94 - 97, and we're in the process of learning how to get and keep him warm.  We've been told to deal with it for now.  Apparently that is a common side effect of cranial radiation - some moments he's more cold than others and cannot tolerate any wind on his body or face.  Ahhh the ravages of treatment.  For more of our story, check out steve's caring bridge site.  Stop in and say hi!
