Hello-

I've posted a couple of questions out here and don't seem to get any response.  I see other's experience the same.  Are there other cancer discussion boards folks are using along with this one?  My mother is being treated for lung cancer - atypical carcinoid; stage III.  She starts chemo in a couple weeks.  I have a feeling I'm going to need a village to help us get through this...

Thank you!

I agree with you that some experience the same, not getting any response. But, I think it may because no one hv experience the same situation as your mum .

I hv view on your past posting and note that doctor hv classify your mum cancer as NSCLC.

You shud ask doctor for name of the chemo drug and what is the kind of side effect expected for the patient.

With the name of the drug, many in these message board will be able to advise you the expected side effefct and so on. Or you shud be able to get lots of informations from the past posting .

Be very frank with you, when i first log in to these message board, I read many of the past posting for the information I need and it really help me  a lot .

You may also chk on the information of the drug at http://www.2ndcanceropinionusa.com/drugdb.htm

click on Cancer Drug Data base and choose the drug for information.

It is also good to log in to the following site to know more about Lung cancer. informations like kind of treatment ; what to take note during treatmnet and so on, it is very informative . My doctor advise me to read information from the site, so that I can be well prepare for the treatment and it really help me a lot .
