Hiccups?

My husband started chemo and radiation on Monday.  Tuesday he started with terrible hiccups, and then last night the vomiting started.  Have the vomiting under control now, but still hiccups.  Any ideas?

No ideas but I know I've seen this discussed somewhere by somebody who had the same problem. I'm sorry I don't remember where or what they did, but they did get the hiccups to go away.

I had the same problem.  The docs prescribed a drug that worked.  Sorry, I can't remember what it was.  After chemo it seems I'm lucky to remember what day it is :)

I am very new to this so I only have one idea for getting rid of hiccups and that is to have someone hold you ears shut and drink a full glass of water and then hold your breath as long as you can.  This has never failed me.

Like Threeput, my doc prescribed me a drug that worked. Unlike Threeput, I still have the pill bottle -- with some extra pills that I never needed, because it worked so well.

Ask your doctor about Lorazepam. It worked wonders for me. I suspect that's probably what Threeput had, too.

Good luck!

My husband also had hiccups.  Ask your doctor about Baclofen.  It worked for Michael.

God bless and good luck.
