Another MRI report question

Hi, I just received a MRI report from about 2 weeks ago. It included a MRS. There are some terms I'm not sure about and I'd like some clarification before I see the radialogist on Tuesday:

They were comparing a 10/15 MRI to a 10/2 MRI. My surgery was on 9/14.

1. "there is minor fluctuation in enhancment at the operative margin" -- does that mean positive or negative enhancement? That is something I should ask?

2. "mild increased blood volume is noted along the inferior margin of the operative margin" What does this mean? Is angiogenesis happening?

3. "The MR spectroscopy is limited but demonstrates mild elevation of choline to creatine ratio in a few voxels" What does MRS is limited mean? I know that mild elevation of choline to creatine isn't that good but since I haven't had any other MRS I can't trend that.

Anyway any pointers would be nice. I started radiation on 10/26 and about to start the 3rd week.

Wish I could help, but I never read my mri reports, I just look at them and listen to what my onc has to say. The enhancement site over tumor cavity could be anything so soon after surgery--edema, etc. etc. If it makes you feel any better, my med team has always told me I would be symptomatic, even in a very subtle way, before an mri would show progression. I've had 2 recurrences so far and that has always held true.

There is always swelling following surgery, radiation and chemo.  In fact, it can remain there for a very long time.  I was worried about my husband's recent report, as well. We saw the NO and he said everything looked great but then when I read the report there was verbage that confused and concerned me.  NO called and clarified the report and all is well.  Keep us posted after your appointment on Tuesday.

I hope you will take what I am about to say the way I intend, which is no way to criticize. Please, please please ASK your n/onc or n/surg these questions. It's not that we are able to answer the question; we can't, obviously, since we haven't seen the report. But you must, must, MUST learn no only to question every single aspect of you/your loved one's care, you must demand it -- your life depends on it! No question is too trivial to ask, and if you have to ask a question ten times before you understand the answer, then by golly, ask it 10 times! There will be many more questions on this journey, and my you need to make sure you and your providers get that when you are in the room (and sometimes when you're not) that YOU are the center of their universe!

I wish you the very best of luck today and in the future.
