Confusion

My situtation is this.  I am an American living in Thailand.  I had an episode of ^BP that could not be controlled.  There was a CT scan preformed to determined if the renal artery was restricted.  No restriction but tumors were found on the L Adrenal and in the upper L lung and the finding of the radiologist was they were malignant.  After consulting with specialists it was determined to remove the adrenal tumor and follow the lung lesion.  The adrenal tumor was removed and was begign.  A three month follow up CT scan of the lung showed no change.  The recommendation now is either a six month follow up CT scan or the removal of the upper lobe of the left lung.   I would appreciate any thoughts or imput.  It seems to me that six months is a long time to go without a follow up and that removal of the lobe is a bit extreme also.

Suggest youto hv second opinion , you may get the second opinion in Singapore, as there is many oncologist availlable and there is also John Hopkins in Singapore, if you want the contact, i will advise to you.

As per your message , Doctor finding is Malignant and after the removal of adrenal tumor and lung lesion, it's Benign.

So,the question now is that the tumor in your upper L lung is Malignant or Benign ? if it's Malignant, it's very strange that Doctor not suggest you to start any treatment , i.e. Chemo .

I hv discussion with many oncologist  in Malaysia and Singapore ( including the oncologist from John Hopkins USA ) and all of them advise me that operation is not a need for me, when the CT scan and Pet Scan confirm that my lung cancer already cause lesion to my lung wall ( means , it's already spread ) and it confirm as Malignant by the pathologist , after they perform biopsy procedure to remove some tissue of the tumor for test .

CT scan can not give us any confirmation whether the tumor is Malignant or benign.

Thanks for your reply.  I was unclear after the initial CT Scan the radiologist suspected the adrenal tumor was malignant and secondary from the lung lesion.  I had the adrenal tumor removed and it was found to be benign.  It was recommended I have a followup CT scan and track teh lung lesion in 3 months. I did so and the scan shows no change but the radiologist still describes the lesion as suggestion of malignant tumor of the lung.  I got a 2nd opinon to day from a pulmonolgist. He believes the lesion is probably benign but wants early Xrays from the USA to compare before making a recommendation.  Thank you very much for you replay and the info on facilities in Singapore.  I wish you all the best in your situation.  I know how scary and depressing it can be.  Take care and all the best.
