Our beagle Eddie was diagnosed with TCC in October after treating him for infections.
He's on 5 mg of Piroxicam & 250 mg of Vitamin C
to keep the urine acidic and keep infections down.
We give him on pill a day with yogurt, we just started giving him proalgeazyme, there was an article about it on our local news channel, we're looking for a miracle. Eddie's doing OK we had his urine tested & the ph is fine & no infection. Because of the location surgery is not an option. He has a great appetite and is urinating fine, he just feels like he has to pass somethin and can't it seems to be very frustrating. Last Sunday was our 10 year anniversay since we found him, we had a party & I wish I could have another 10 years. All the best to everyone who is going through this, my prayers are with you.

Hi...

I have a 12 year old beagle mix, Freckles, that has TCC. She has a bladder tumor that is very large inside her bladder. She is being treated with 6.2 mg. piroxicam once a day. She was diagnosed 4/14/06. On May 5, 2006, we will have another ultrasound done to see if the tumor has shrunk at all. I have hear about flaxseed and cottage cheese being used for TCC. Have you heard anything about this treatment? ( I will have to ask about the Vitamin C )

I am truly sorry about your beagle Eddie. I do know what you are going through. If you need emotional support, let me know...I know I do.

Sincerely,

Janice Rowe

Hi Janice,

Thank you for your message. I'm truely sorry to hear about Freckle's tumor. We've known about Eddie's cancer since October & we consider every day a bonus day. I don't know about the flaxseed, however I do take it myself. We put
Eddie's pills in cream cheese, we haven't changed his diet too much, he still has a very good appetite, especially for cat food. He's been on Science Diet R/D for a few years he's tends to get overweight and he has in the past ruptured both cruciate ligaments in both knees.
We had surgery on the first knee & it was a brutal recovery so the when it happened to the second knee we watched his weight & carried him and it seems to have healed as well as the leg that had the surgery. He's been through so much and to now have this horrible disease is heartbreaking. He's the best dog. Please let me know how Freckles makes out with the ultrsound, I hope the tumor has shrunk. I'll keep you in my prayers.
The vitamin C is to keep the urine acidic so there's less of a chance of infection, which Eddie doesn't get, we have his urine checked every two weeks.

Hi Betty,

Thank you for answering my message. I hope Eddie continues to do well. I heard about a supplement called K9 Immunity and Transfer Factor Plus Advanced Formula. I have ordered it and am going to try it and also bought the book "Help Your Dog Fight Cancer" by Laura Kaplan. I am waiting for their arrival. This is the website if you are interested.

I work for a veterinarian and my vet is working with the oncologist. My vet and the oncologist said not to change Frec's diet basically because it might cause an upset stomach and might not be associated with the piroxicam. Frecs is on canine rd dry and canned. She has always had a weight problem. This disease IS horrible and very heartbreaking. Keep me posted on Eddie and I will keep you posted on Frecs.

By the way, where do you live? I live in Lebanon, Ohio. Keep in touch...if you ever want to talk, we can exchange telephone numbers. Take care and God Bless.

Sincerely,

Janice Rowe

Hi Janice,

My name is Kari and our 9 year old dog Nala was just diagnosed on Tuesday with cancer. I was wondering how you liked the K9 Immunity that you purchased? Have you found it to be beneficial? We haven't even determined our course of action yet but did order this supplement hoping that it will help Nala. I hope Frecs is doing well.

Kari,

Sorry to hear about Nala. What kind of dog is she? When I first heard about Frecs having bladder cancer, I was devastated. After the intial shock was over, I started planning Frecs care with my vet and oncologist. I am fortunate in the fact that I work for a vet and the oncologist is close to where I live. There is a compounding pharmacy next to the oncologist so that's a plus.

We had the second ultrasound done and the tumor has shrunk. She was/is on piroxicam for 2 weeks and I added the K9 Immunity plus the Transfer Factor Advanced Formula. Piroxicam is hard on the stomach. Frecs has not had a problem yet. She is still taking the piroxicam 6.2 mg. once a day.

I wish you the best of luck. If I can be of any help, just let me know. It's not easy to have to go through but we have no choice in the matter. We do what is best for our pets. Take care, Kari.

Sincerely,

Janice Rowe

Hi Janice,
Thank you for writing me back. Nala is a 9 year old Rotti Black Lab mix. Her doctor thinks she has lymphosarcoma but since we just found out we have not done an ultrasound yet. In fact we are still wavering on what is the best course of action for her. Unfortunately she seems to have become much worse over the weekend. She is very lathargic and I am concerned that she is in pain. We are set to see the vet again today and hopefully determine what we should do. I am worried that chemo would be very hard on her. Has Frecs done chemo? If so, what has it been like for her? Thank you for writing me back,
Kari

Hello- I came across this website after doing a google search and I am glad I found it! I was curious as well about the K-9 supplement. Has anyone noticed a difference with it and feel that it is legitimate? My yorkie is 12 and was just diagnosed with leukemia. You would never know it if you saw him as he still acts completely normal. We are waiting to hear from our vet to start him on chemo...hopefully next week. I would do anything and that was why I was asking about the K-9 supplement. Thanks- tammy

Our 9 year old chocolate lab was diagnosed with a primary liver tumor. It cannot be operated on because too much of the liver is involved and it has also comprimised the spleen. Our vet said there was nothing he could do. In desperation my husband and I found K-9 Immunity on the web. We order it and Transfer Factor Plus Advanced Formula.

We decided not to go the way of an oncologist and instead Willie is seeing a homeopathic vet and acupuncturist. We changed his diet to a high protein/fat, low carb. And started him on mega doses of Omega 3 Amino Acids through supplement and sardines. Our homeopathic vet has put Willie on various chinese herbs & Noni Juice. Willie is also getting a medicine from our regular vet to assist liver function.

Before going to the homeopathic vet Willie went down hill quickly to the point where we held him late one night and were sure he would leave us. Four days later we got into the new vet. He has received 3 acupuncture treatments, takes K-9 Immunity, the meds and herbs for about a month now. The difference is astonishing. He is doing all his favorite things again, going on hikes, swimming. It is obvious from the size of his abdomen that he still has the tumors, but he is enjoying life again. What do we attribute to his feeling better the most? Who really knows.

Financially it is a burden and if we could lighten up on a treatment and feel he would continue to do well, we would. For now, we are staying the course and grateful for every enjoyable day he has with us.

Hi,
I have a 12 year old beagle with liver and spleen tumors. She was just diagnosed this weekend. She also has severe anemia and under went a transfusion. We believe this is the only reason she is still with us now. I order the K-9 Immunity and had it shipped overnight. I gave her the first dose today. I am praying that she will somehow recover. I just want to see her energy back.

Your story made me have some hope for my baby. I understand she is an older puppy, but she is my love and I will miss her dearly and deeply when she is gone. I hope that this supplement is the miracle I am looking for.

She is on medication and it is making her ill. I hate to give it to her. She seems so much more alert when she is coming off of it.

Keep me posted on how you are doing with your baby. I have opted to avoid chemo treatments or surgery because she is an older dog and she has a heart murmer. I just want her to be comfortable and get some of her energy back.

Best of luck to you.

Thanks,
Cindie and Amica
