If anyone has any solid information regarding the use of the above drug, I would appreciate hearing about it. My former husband has gall bladder cancer which has spread to part of the liver and at least one lymph node. His surgery was cancelled at the last minute due to VA shortage of ICU beds, so he is hanging out there in limbo waiting and hoping.

Hello Nagatha,  did you receive useful information about Sorafanib? My friend with advanced gallbladder cancer has an oncologist suggesting that she use it. He is an expert in kidney cancer but is hopeful it can help her.

Dear Myles,

Thanks for your response to my question of last year.  It appears that my former husband may be a true exception to the rule regarding the mortality rates of gall bladder cancer.  He is past the one year mark, has body scans every six months and is clean.  He had the resection of the gall bladder, liver and lymph node, and was supposed to undergo a course of chemo and radiation, but due to a serious infection of the wound site, the length of time it took to heal closed the window on further treatment.

Whatever your situation, I wish you the very best of luck....this is a disease which frightens people partly because so little has been known about treatment.  Our doctors at the OHSU Medical Hospital and Oregon VA worked hand in hand and retreived a lot of information from Japanese medical journals.

     Most sincerely,

     Nagatha
