My mom was diagnosed in nov of 2009 with cmall cell lung cancer one tumor in lung, it had already spread to her spine and spots in her liver..she started chemo the first weekof december (3 sessions every 21 days)VP6 and carboplatin. She also recieved a few weeks of radiation prior to target the tumor on the spine (the tumor on her spine caused her to loose all feeling and use of her right leg). My mom is 54 and has been in good health prior to this, she tolerates the chemo well..can anyone tell me the prognosis/or relate to lung cancer spreading to the spine and or liver?

response would be greatly appreciated :)

My sister in law also has lung cancer that spread to the spine (diagnosed late Nov).. she had chemo (which she responed to well) oxygen and targeted treatment on the spine..  she is now at home with macmillan nurse visits occassionally (that she doesnt want) .. she recently had a scan that said that the cancer had spread in the Liver (we didnt know that it was in the Liver)..  she is very confused and her husband isnt communicating very well as she wont let him talk about it.. she is 56 years old... we have no idea of a prognosis or life expectancy.. the consultant has given her more chemo..   like you we would like to know if anyone can help?
