my husband is cold all the time- doesn't matter what the temp is in the house or outside.   he wears a soft skull like cap all the time and keeps jersey gloves on his hands most of the time- this really helps.

Hi, Debbie2,

My husband is cold all the time, too.  He didn't start being chilled until after he started chemo.  He also wears a knit hat and his winter jacket whenever he goes outside, even if it is 50 or 60 degrees out.

He gets especially cold around 4 PM and after each day. He spends a lot of time on the couch with a blanket wrapped around him.

I am about 8 months out of treatment for head and neck cancer and along with other things, I cannot get warm!  I live alone and turned my furnace up so I could try to be warm and rcvd a humongous bill!  Now, I've turned it back down to what I always keep it at, but, my kids come over and say it's way to hot, but I'm freezing no matter what the temperature is.  Has anyone else experience this cold all the time feeling after treatment?  I had 33 radiations and 8 chemos.  I don't know how to get warm!

Hey, I am new to this board, but I am glad to read about someone else being cold. I am a ten year cancer survivor and my feet still get very cold.  I was always hot bloodied so being cold was new to me. Sometimes my feet feel like blocks of ice. I just bundle them and myself up and stay that way till they get warm, sometimes a few hours. I can go out in real hot weather and everyone is sweating but I am smiling and saying it feels good!! I now have to wear long sleeves when going out to eat, because restrauant are always cold. Interesting subject though.

It is summertime and my mom isnt even in chemo yet and says shes cold all the time, Try putting blankets in the dryer and put them over you, this is what they do in the hospital. Except they have warmers lol, I am afraid my moms circulation is kind of shutting down, 2 or 3 days before my husband died of a massive heart attack there were small signs, one that I missed was his feet were cold thru wool socks.

I don't think it is just the treatment that makes us cold. I think that the weight loss has the same effect. I had no chemo or radio. I went down to 7 stone after surgery in August 2008 and didn't get warm until the following summer.

Keeping head, hands and feet covered and cosy makes a big difference. I also kept a fleece blanket by my chair and often wrapped myself up in it. Hot water bottle was good and one of the heat bags that go in the microwave.

Being outside that first winter was a nightmare as I used to just clench up and everywhere hurt. Night-time was horrid too as I hurt too much to cuddle.

I am 2 years + post op now and have put a stone back on which has solved the problem.
