My mom has been diagnosed oct 2004 with pancreatic cancer. We have some questions regarding supplements friends of theirs found, we wonder if she can take the following with morphine, chemo- she is taking gemzar/tarceva combo:glycolean,12 plus dietary endocrine, ambrotose, manacleanse, powder comlpexglyconutrial-- these are from a company called mannaheim? Any help would be great - i think good nutrition is wonderful, but they are very expensive and if they are working against her prescribed meds we need to know.. Any help woould be great..

Thank you for all of your useful information. mom is on her last type of treatment she can have , unless they come up with something new-- she is taking gemzar again with tarceva daily.. She was just given 6 months -- she had been dx in oct 2004 it has spread to her liver.. She does feel well , little tired, still trying to stay active..we are just concerned because she needs to take her morphine for pain control 3 x daily and we don;t want anything to react to this - that would make things worse. Dad is really reluctant to tell the doctor about the supplements she takes because the doctor really doesn't know if they will help-- and quite frankly we are all looking for that "cure", anybody going through this horrible disease process knows. Thank you again.

My mom had a major stroke about a year ago with several smaller ones & seizures but she is paralyzed on the left side and has detererated alot. I just found out about the Mannatech products so I bought some and started her on them. Then I got a call just couple of weeks ago that her twin sister's lung cancer has returned and is in the bones, spine, etc and not much they can do so I sent her a tub of Ambrotose. How much do you think she should take and it sounded like you only took this product when fighting the cancer and then later added the other supplements. I just lost my job and know I cannot provide all these supplements to my mom and my aunt since they are expensive (not really when it comes to your health and getting well) but when you don't have imcome..yes. thanks for any help cheryl

Capsaicin

just thought i would share this new study, came out last week: http://groups.google.com/group/sci.life-extension/browse_thread/thread/b47884b89b76e1a4/fdc530cb4c67ce05?hl=en#fdc530cb4c67ce05 Another cancer inhibited by chili pepper compound In addition to the recently reported inhibitory effect of the red chili pepper ingredient capsaicin on prostate cancer cell growth, the compound has now been found to reduce the growth of pancreatic cancer cells. Pancreatic cancer is the fifth leading cause of cancer death in the United States, and one of the most aggressive types of the disease. The findings were presented during the Late Breaking Session at the annual meeting of the American Association for Cancer Research, held April 1 to 5 at the Washington Convention Center in Washington, D.C. Sanjay K. Srivastava, PhD, who is an assistant professor at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine's department of pharmacology, and his colleagues grafted pancreatic tumors into mice and fed them varying concentrations of capsaicin three or five days per week. A control group of mice received normal saline minus the compound. The team found that animals who received capsaicin had higher levels of apoptosis-associated proteins, and tumors that were half the size of those in the control group. It was discovered that capsaicin disrupted the cancer cells' mitochondria--the energy producing organelle's of the cell--which caused the release of apoptotic proteins. "In our study, we discovered that capsaicin fed orally to mice with human pancreatic tumors was an extremely effective inhibitor of the cancer process, inducing apoptosis in cancer cells," Dr Srivastava summarized. "Capsaicin triggered the cancerous cells to die off and significantly reduced the size of the tumors." "Our results demonstrate that capsaicin is a potent anticancer agent, induces apoptosis in cancer cells and produces no significant damage to normal pancreatic cells, indicating its potential use as a novel agent for the prevention and treatment of pancreatic cancer," he concluded.

The best thing you can do here is ask your pharmacist about drug interactions. Take a list to show him, of everything she takes. He will tell you. Pharmacists know more about drugs than the doctors..That's what they do.. When I was diagnosed with a paralized stomach, I began to take Pancrease to help me digest my food. I also take a good b-complex and a multi vitamin. I am doing very well, without over-doing it on all this stuff...Like they say, good balanced diets make a lot more sense. You know you can overdose on vitamins too? Good luck!

My husband has stage 4 lung cancer. He is 44, never smoked. We have tried 1st line chemo, and then on to a 2 line clinical trial, nothing has seemed to work to shrink the cancer. We are now going to start Tarceva, but waiting for insurance approval. A friend gave us some supplements from Mannatech, the advanced Ambrotose, AO, Manna Clense and Plus. I started my husband on the ambrotose last night, the dose you talked about. The 1/2 tsp, the bottle says 1/4. He woke up with a really bad headache during the night. Could you help me with the dosage, it sounds like you think he should be taking more than 1/2 tsp. Any help or direction would be appreciated. Could the ambrotose cause a bad headache? What are the side effects, if any?

Dear Mrs.Kimgee, I have great interesting in the information you directed to Mom of 2. Since I have been diagnosed on July 2005, a large tumor on my Pancreas has been found. After learning, I classified that this tumor I think is Carsinoid Tumor, because, praise the Lord Jesus, it doesn't disturbe me, I have no carcinoid symptom or syndrome. The doctor said it has to be operated to take out the tumor, but I didn't take this action soon because I think if there is still other way to use to kill the tumor and to bring it to be died. Since it has been found, until now, I have been taking some kind of Herbals that normally used against the tumor. When I read your usefull information on this website, I think it is very accurate if I take the Ambrotose as you have taken before. Which kind of Ambrotose that usefull for me, Ambrotose AO or Advanced Ambrotose...?. Mrs.Kimgee, I live in Indonesia. Do you know an agent in Indonesia that sell this Ambrotose...?. Thank you very much for the information and help. Regards, S.M.
