December 20, 2005 my 50 yr old mother was Diagnosised with Stage 3-4 SCC of the Right Tonsil also in 3 lymphnodes and Parotid gland. She has since had a tonsilectomy, Parotidectomy and a radicle neck dissection. She is healing well from the surgeries. She has now started Radiation and will start Chemo next week. Does anyone know anything about the Drug call Herbatux or Tarceva. They were going to give her Cisplatin but changed there minds. My mom is very reluctant to do ANY treatment for fear of all the side effects. The doctors are telling her the alternitive is far worse then the treatment. She is also dening a feeding tube. I have learned a lot from all the postings and i'm hoping to find more on these drugs and any advise in helping my mom get through this very difficult time.
