Hi. My friend was diagnosed with stomach cancer and is
scheduled to remove all or some of her cancer on Tuesday. Can
anyone recommend a god comprehensive cookbook or book that
I can give to her family as a reference for what she should be
eating?

Thanks!

There is a new book out called "goes down easy" just for cancer patients. The princess Margaret hospital sponsored it in Ontario.

Cut & Pasted from their site-- I doubt they will mind! You can download this book at no cost. I have taken their delightful classes and they are pretty good! Cancer Project wants us to learn and do! You can get to the page by clicking on ~resources~.

*The Survivor's Handbook*

The Survivor's Handbook was written by Neal D. Barnard, M.D., with the help of Jennifer Reilly, R.D. It was developed to accompany the Food for Life Nutrition and Cooking Classes for Cancer Prevention and Survival. However, it is sufficiently detailed to be used on its own and will give you important insights into food’s role in cancer prevention and cancer survival.

Highlights include:

More than 100 fast and healthy recipes.
Practical steps for weight control, menu planning, and healthy eating in restaurants.
Groundbreaking information about immune-boosting foods, antioxidants and phytochemicals, and much more.

my husbands oncologist gave us "beating cancer with nutrition" as someone else stated...very helpful and i have to tell you going back to what our ancestors ate make a ton of sense.  All the sugar we all consume in a lifetime is amazing.
