Subject: :( Which Option to Choose??
Date: 02/21/2006
My name is Jessica. I am 24, soon to be 25 and about a month ago I had an "abnormal pap with pre-cancerous cells." I then went in and did the coloscopy and my Dr. just informed me that I have a mild form of displasyia, or mild cervical cancer. The 2 options that she gave me are to come back every 3 months because I'm so young and my body just might decide to get rid of it on its own. Or have the procedure done where they take a spiral wire or whatever and cut it out. The Dr. informed me that there are risks with that procedure, in that some women's cervix does not fully regenerate and these women have had troubles carrying their children to full term, resulting in losing their baby. That is the part that scares me the most. My fiance and I so want to have a large family. So I guess what I'm asking is has anyone else dealt with this exactly? And what option should I choose? Thanks so much in advance for any input. Alot of the discussions on here are so sad, yet inspiring. Stay strong Ladies!

I understand your concerns. Thankfully for me I already have 3 children. I am scheduled for my LEEP March 12/06. I have read that after you have a LEEP and wish to have children you can have your cervix stitched up at the beginning of your pregnacy to help keep your cervix closed until you go into labor, then they simply remove the stitch. I would look into this more as I haven't researched it or anything just remember reading it.

my name is amanda and i have the same thing that you have and i am careing my 3 child and i just go in to my dr ever trimester and have it looked over to make sure that it is not getting out of hand. it is a hard choose to make but really no one can tell you the best way to go, the only one that can make that decison is you. after i have my child i am going to have a laser treatment done. i dont know if your dr has ever told you about the kid of treatment but that is what i am doing- so what i am trying to say is if you want childern you should and just go in ever time the dr says to. i have to have a C-Section with this child and you might have to do it that way to. but that would be your dr choose. so do what you think is right if you want childern have them now

Hi,

Please read my post I just posted two days ago regarding vitamins that can cure your dysplasia.

I had the same problem as you but mine was severe and I had to have surgery. If you have any questions please feel free to ask.
