Small lumps on the side of neck - 3 years old

My son is almost 3 years old.  My mother in law noticed two lumps on the left side of his neck a while back. They are not visible unless he leans his head to the side.  I figured it was because of his ear infection and didn't think anything else of it.  However, that was a year ago and they are still there.  They have not changed in size, that I have noticed.  What could this be?  I am calling his ENT after their lunch break but I would like some heads up please.  Could this be serious?  He is not currently sick nor does he have an ear infection.  Thank you!

Hi there,

I have the same situation with my 3 year old Son,except he has a lump in his Groin area. He has has it about 1 year also, and the Dr. said it is nothing,so I took his word for it,since he is acting fine, and is not sick, plus it has notchanged in size at all.  Still I wonder if it is something bad.I am giving  it a month or so,and I am going to take him to see him,and see if they can do Bloodwork, and get a Biopsy. have a family history of Lymphoma, and my Nephew has Leukemia,so it kind of makes me nervous to let it go.

Lindsay - I believe it is always best to have things like this checked out. It may simply be a lymph node that is still enlarged from him being sick. If it is something more serious, the sooner you find out the better so you can take action. I hope you discover it is nothing to be concerned about and that your son can just continue to be a happy little boy. Let me know what you find out.
