My friend had ressection on Jan 13th and is just now seeing oncologist on Wed march 15th.
She is 75 and was in great health, over half of liver removed, and cancer had invaded soft tissue around vessels,(that's what labs stated) also in one lymphnode.

My question to anyone is have you seen or had this before, and what kind of, if any treatment can be given.

Surgeon said surgery was not curative. But that is all he said about prognosis!!!

Please give me some insite!!

Oh yes I do want to hear of your paw-paws cancer story if you don't mind. I am taking my friend to oncologist tomorrow. And I will have some details when I get back to report, hopefully.
It seems like this must be the one of the most frustrating types of cancer I read about. Or maybe I don't know the questions to ask. Thanks to anyone that can give insight.

I'm so sorry about your dad, this has been a long journey for my friend, jackie. She had surgery on Jan 13th and was diagnoised in Dec of 05. Surgery is the only cure for Klatskin tumor and most of the time it comes back somewhere else. Surgery was done on Jackie at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta, Ga. USA. By a leading surgeon specialitizing in liver transplants and resections. he removed half of liver and bile ducts, made a new duct with small intestines. She had 5 weeks of 5-fu chemo and radiation. She is now having some drainage problems with bile ducts and has a biliary drain tube capped off and we were told just Friday that she will have to keep it forever. She is pretty sick some days with chills and fever, she is 75 and things don't look good for her. The dr told us from the beginnig 600 days, don't where he pulled those figures from. Good luck, Charmaine
