Gbm And Anxiety

Just wondered if anyone else has gone through this themselves or seen someone with it.
I posted the other day but this is a new question.
Was diagnosed in July 2005 with GBM grade 4.
Lately, I can be on the phone, playing on Pogo or watching TV and out of no where a strong anxiety attact will hit me. They get pretty bad at times. My doctor has me on 1 mg of Klonopin 3 times a day. I take it all the time, some days, taking 4 or 6 of them to combat the anxiety. The doctor says this is okay. Can someone out there help me maybe?

Hi there. I was diagnosed in Mar.05 w/anaplastic astrocytoma grade3. I am not taking drugs at this time, but I can tell you that ever since I received the news of my diagnosis, I've been having problems with anxiety. I don't know anyone that could accept that sort of news with an "oh well" and a shrug of the shoulders. I did find that learning to breathe and also getting involved in yoga and stretching is good for this. I know that it's hard not to think about it. It's with you every second of the day, hard not to, but it does help to try and block that with meditation. I will pray that you can overcome this battle. It's been hard for me, and there are times where I just want to scream "what did I do", or. "why me", but really there is no answer. So, try to wake up everyday...look outside and be thankful for everything that you've got. I do, and it is a BIG HELP!

My 39 year old husband was diagnosed in Oct. '03 with anaplastic Oligodendroglioma. Initally he had ALOT of anxiety. Once he finished his radiation treatments (and after the holidays passed) his anxiety eased some, but he did still have issues but it was better. However with each doctor's appt./MRI his anxiety level increases again. I agree with the other respondent that it would be unnatural if a person with this or most any other cancer diagnosis did not have anxiety issues. Learning how to "control" it on your own is key. My sister was diagnosed with GBM in December. She had it removed Dec 9th and has gone through the Radiation and Temodar. She has completed the second round of Temodar. She now is having TERRIBLE ANXIETY attacks. She is presently in the hospital where they are trying to regulate her medications. But, she is still havind the attacks. She says she has electrical shock waves going down her arms and legs. Is that the way you feel? We are getting desperate for help.
