What Can we Expect if no Whipple or Chemo???

My Mom was diagnosed in November with PC when she became jaundiced. She is 85 and was the picture of health before this. Because of her age, she opted not to have the Whipple or chemo. She has some pain in her back, doesn't have much of an appetite and drinks a lot of BOOST, and doesn't move as fast (she doesn't want to go out shopping or anything like that, she tires easily) but otherwise, she's doing fairly well and has a great attitude. She doesn't say she has cancer, she calls it "her little problem." She had hospice but she laughingly says that she "fired" them! Does anyone have any experience with someone who did not get any treatment - how long did they feel pretty good, do things move quickly when they start to move, etc. I find I can't even ask the correct questions, I don't want to say what I fear. Someone did tell me that the older someone is, the slower this thing moves. Is that true? I just want to know what to expect - I live in Nashville and Mom and Dad are in Texas. Thanks so much Sharon

Do you know a stage? Is there any evidence of mets? Most PC is diagnosed at stage 4 where mets are present. With no treatment its normally 6 months or so. Spend as much time with her as you can.
