RE: Loss of Voice

I had my last radiaton treatment three weeks ago. While having my treatments I had more of a voice that I do now. Basically, for the two weeks after radiation, I was down to a whisper only. Now I have better volume so it is basically a heartier whisper but still not a voice that Iwould call a voice. I am very concerned because I was told that I should get my voice back but it may sound deeper. Well it is deep allright, so deep it is a whisper. I go back to my ENT tomorrow. It will be the first visit since treatments. I am keeping my fingers crossed.By the way, have anyone else been experiencing the coughing? Kris

RE: Loss of Voice

Hi I feel your pain on the voice. My has been bad for over a year. On Feb 18th I had a cancerous tumor taken off my vocal cord. My voice got so much better, but then I started radaiation and after 3 weeks of that it is almost gone. It is very frustrating, but they say it is normal.

Loss of Voice

Hi, I have had 4 weeks of radiation for cancer to the vocal chord,
it has been a month now since my last rad. treatment and I am
feeling a lot better, my appetite has returned, I can eat most
things now, I am drinking better, but not as good as I hoped for,
swallowing is difficult, especially water, I am sleeping better, and
feeling fitter, my only problem is the voice, or lack of it, my voice
went months before I started radiation and has not returned yet,
although people tell me it is stronger, I can't see it myself, I just
wondered if anyone has gone through the same and how has it
affected their voice, how long did it take for your voice to return
to normal, if it ever does?
