Hi Ron - I am very interested in your suggestion that the Rebuilder might help, and am curious as to whether it has made a difference in the past couple months. I am 56 and had a Stage III-B tumor removed in January 2006, did 12 rounds of FOLFOX (though the last 4 were without the oxaliplatin, as my oncologist was concerned about the possibility of permanency as the neuropathy that started in my fingers, mouth and face began to present in my feet), and finished in August 2006. Initially, the neuropathy was very minor - especially compared to the complaints of others whose messages I have read here - until the week after my FOLFOX treatments ended. Then the effects in my feet really began to kick in. Now my feet are affected 24-7, whether standing, sitting or lying down. I try very hard not to let it affect my daily routine. My toes are very stiff, the soles of my feet feel like they have cardboard or plastic glued to them. Walking or hiking is uncomfortable after a mile. I am an Ultimate Frisbee player, and can run for about an hour on a soft grass surface, but am prone to ankle twists and calf cramps, more than before the chemo. My oncologist said the neuropathy would all be gone in 6-9 months. I saw a neurologist, who tested for and diagnosed some nerve damage in my legs and feet. He said that nerve damage is very slow to heal and somewhat unpredictable, and that my condition would likely take at least a couple of years to begin to dissipate, if ever. I am not willing to accept that this condition may have become permanent. The Rebuilder sounds to me like a logical solution, and I am inclined to try it. I have read and listened to the material at the Rebuilder website. Have you or any other reader had positive results? Negative? Any? Let us know.
What kind of feedback did you get on the rebuilder?
