Sorry to hear about your husbands cancer diagnosis. I too am dealing with the same exact scores of your husband. I am 46 yrs old. And this is my 2nd cancer diagnosis within 1 1/2 yrs. I had to have a total rhinectomy and palectomy July 04 to eliminate stage 3 squamous cell in my nasal septum. The surgery was radical but it saved my life.
Now I have to deal with PC. I have had two consultations with radiation oncologists who speak highly of brachytherapy. You just have to find a radiation Onc. who does a lot of them. There was just a long term study on PC therapies that just came out and brachytherpy has similar long term survival rates as any other radiation therapy. In fact I went to a City of Hope seminar last month and their view is that ALL of the PC therapies are having very similar long term survival rates because of the advances in technology. You most likely know that a surgeon will tell you to have surgery and a radiation Onc. will tell you to have radiation. But with a gleason score of 6 your husband is a good candidate for brachy.
