I didn't do the full 14 days, so my results may not be typical (I did 9 this series, only 3 days the 1st time).
I only had to use the calamine 2 days and then the itching basically stopped. I have one spot that is just a tiny bit itchy. The makeup did a better job of covering the spots when they were just angry red things and even when they were eroded (they never did weep or bleed). Now they are scabby/scaly and the places are harder to cover with makeup. Fortunately, most of them are up on my forehead and at my temples and my hair basically covers them.
I think the crusty calamine made it harder to cover the spots with makeup (it doesn't really come off the scaly/scabby places when I washed my face--of course I didn't use a wash cloth and scrub or anything).
I do have freckly type skin anyway, so I think on my type of skin, the sores show up less than they would with someone with that lovely all one color skin!
I don't know if I will get another prescription filled and do this again. When I looked at someone else's photos, it looks like the 2nd time you don't get as many red sores but you still get quite a few in the same areas as before.
Are you applying Zyclara over your entire face? or just on the one spot where you have the AK?
Oh, BTW, my Dr gave me some little tubes of Cerave which I have been putting on my face-there is an am formula that has sunscreen in it. You do know to stay out of the sun while using Zyclara, right? And, of course from now on always use sunscreen! Someone else wrote on a blog that their Dr prescribed something called desonide because their face turned so red from using Zyclara (that didn't happen to me).
