Hi I am a relatively healthy, vigorous 66 year old male diagnosed with prostate cancer in June with stage 1B and a Gleason of 3 plus 3==6. In October I took a hormone shot in preparation for radiation therapy, which was to begin this month. Since then I have done some research on the net, attended group meetings and have talked with numerous survivors about their treatments etc. I have learned of a new piece of equipment ...IMRT which is supposed to be far superior to the existing radiation machine ... it is computerized and far more accurate which results in far less of the undesirable side effects. I have opted to hold off another three months for radiation hoping that the IMRT which is on order in my local hospital will have arrived and will be operational...I am looking for reasons why this is not a good plan?? Can anyone help me out here?? Fred
