Anthonys Message: Coughing up Stringy-flem Caregiver Anthonys Recommend this Message Report Abuse Email a Friend Track this Message [Remove] Subject: Coughing up Stringy-flem Date: 03/31/2006 Hello everyone, my mother recently finshied her last cycle of chemo in nov-dec of 2005...now she have been doing ok with her nsclc, but her diabeties is killing her. My question to all of you is... She is now spitting up a string flem substance. Very similair to what she was doing before she had any chemo. We went to the oncologist and she advised us unless it is discolored there really isn't anything she recommends doing yet. He was dx'd in 7/05 and is stable on tarceva. Nonetheless he has an almost constant caugh, thought to be related to radiation esophagitis, and yes he does cough up stringly phlegm.
