My mother is on Nexavar now and she has blisters on her hands and feet. Anyone have any suggestions or tricks on how to get them to go away or at least ease up? Any help is appreciated!

Try Udderly Smooth Lotion. This relieves some of the pain. If this doesnt work the doctor might say come off of nexavar in a few days. Most of the time coming off for a few days really works and when she gets back on, she will more than likely not get them again.

We were told that Ban roll on deoderant helps with the sores on the hands and feet. Let me know if it helps.

Thank you both so much for your ideas! Unfortunately the doctors have stopped the Nexavar for a week or two to let her feet clear up, they say they have never seen anyones feet that bad. She has tried all kinds of things and it just seems like soaking in epsom salt and time is the only thing that is going to help her at this point. Her one foot is so covered it is swollen double. Hopefully the time off the medicine will not hamper her success at beating this. Thank you both again!

My Husband has been on Nexavar for two months. He has had some blisters on his feet. We are using the udderly smooth and also sylvadeen cream used for burns. Someone that had been on the clinical trial for nine months used ginger root tablets once in the morning and one at night. I really believe this has helped my husband also. Stay after the blister.

My doctor has me take vitamin B6 twice a day. I did this at first symptoms, and it never got too bad. I've been on Nexavar/sorafenib for a little over 2 months.

Hello to all,

I have metastatic leiomyosarcoma and have been on sorafenib for 7 months now. I have had many surgeries in the past including my kidney removed and 269 tumors from my lungs at a specialty lung hospital in Germany, this after I was told to be "inoperable" in the states. Initially with the sorafenib I had shrinkage of my residual 40 bilateral lung mets then stable disease. I am on meds for side effects of high blood pressure (lisinopril), relentless diarrhea (Lomotil every six hours), I have painful peeling fingers and feet which have improved as time goes on. I use Myoflex cream over the counter. It is a topical analgesic cream. Also, everyone should use lots of lotions on the hands and feet. I have found that if I gently remove the ever building calluses on my feet (side effect) with a foot stone (after soaking), the foot pain is lessened. I have lost a lot of weight and my hair changed colors (brown to blonde). I have lost hair in strategic areas of my body, I did not however get the notable rash. Many with LMS sarcoma are now responding to this drug. My daughter is on Imatenib (Gleevec)-same drug family, for her Desmoid tumor. I think the angiogenic targeted chemotherapy is a big breakthrough for cancers.
Best wishes to all, Kim OC

My mother has leiomyosarcoma and it has reoccured several times.  She has not responded to chemotherapy and it has been recommended to try nexavar.  Has it worked for you?
