Dear Friends,
My son , age 42, was diagnosed with nsclc 9-05. He was a smoker and had a lung removed, and was put on chemo navelbine and cisplatin for 4 mo.During the time he was on chemo, it met. to his pelvic bone in 2 places, onc. said a big cancer, and a lymph node in his chest. They started radiation immediately after the tests, and he has 10 left to do. The onc. said, now there is no cure, they can just give meds to stop the pain, since it has spread to the bones. Even though there isn't a cure now, is there a chemo that can help without making him too sick, as he is losing weight already. He is on a high dose of pain killers and they just added liquid morphine. I'm the one that is researching the internet, looking for any bit of information that will save his life and give him a will to live. His son was in Iraq, so my husband who has multiple myeloma(rare blood cancer) and I are seeing to it that he gets his meds and to the doctors. I would like to hear from anyone on the plan they used, which chemos they used, and any other information to help me, help him. Thanks so much.
